ABOUT US

ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

The friendly faces you see at the front desk are the unsung heros of Diversified Ink! Red & Caroline work tirelessly to get tattoo appointments scheduled and piercing clients processed, paperwork filed and phones answered! They are both Rockstar Receptionists and they are appreciated immensely!

Jen works behind the scenes to make sure everything overall in the studio is running smoothly, overseeing all personnel, financial and administrative aspects of the business.

MEET THE OWNER

After the unexpected passing of this Father, Ed Sheffer, the Founder of Diversified Ink, Damian Sheffer sought to take over the reins, to ensure the continuance of his fathers legacy. Damian has a big affection for the shop, having grown up being a part of it. He even worked at D.I. doing odd jobs and filing, since he was a young teenager. In fact, a handful of the current staff have had the pleasure of watching him grow up! So Damian felt strongly that he wanted to keep the Diversified family together, as much as possible, and continue to provide a great place of employment for the Diversified artists, piercers and staff.

Damian graduated from Bangor High School in 2020 and from Husson College in 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in BioChemistry. When he is not at Diversified you can find him at the gym, or serving at Hero’s Sports Grill.

HISTORY

Diversified Ink was founded over twenty years ago by tattoo artist, Ed Sheffer. Ed originated from southern Maine and began tattooing at the age of 18. After becoming licensed, he opened his first tattoo studio in Limington. Later, he worked briefly in studios in Portland and Brewer before opening   Diversified Ink Tattoo Studio in Bangor in the year 2000. Ed successfully grew the shop over the years, moving from Hammond Street to Harlow Street, and finally to the Penobscot Plaza, where D.I. currently resides.

Thanks to Ed’s vision, standards of quality, and his passion to produce cutting-edge tattoo work, Diversified Ink has flourished from a one-man studio to having seven licensed tattoo artists and two licensed body piercers on staff.  Our studio is spacious, clean, and welcoming. Each licensed artist works in their own private space and brings a unique style of tattooing to our customers.

Despite tragically losing Ed to a motorcycle accident in 2020, Diversified Ink continues to carry on his legacy of always striving to do our best, looking for opportunities to grow professionally, giving back to the community, and providing excellent tattoo work supported by great customer service.
